During the concert, Scudieri and Ventrella alternate Medieval and Renaissance live music with poetries, lyrical prose and letters by two well-known Italian mystics: Santa Caterina da Bologna (Caterina De Vitri) and Santa Caterina da Siena. Paola Ventrella recreates an antique atmosphere thanks to the unique manufacture of her tiorba and to her perfect technique. As part of the contemporary way of life, music combines with readings of Caterina da Siena and Santa Caterina da Bologna’s works, which exemplify their rhetoric of affections. The former present a more passionate, almost painful, vision, while the latter recreates twelve mystical gardens.
