On Saturday, June 21, 2025, the Festa della Musica returns to Modena!
The European event, organized by the City of Modena and the Modena Music Center, returns with a varied program of musical events that will take place in multiple locations around the city.

The program celebrates the relationship between poetic text and music in the 16th-century Madrigal. Composers such as Willaert, Arcadelt, de Rore, Marenzio, Gesualdo and Monteverdi sought a profound integration of music and words, using expressive and chromatic effects to enhance the meaning of the text.
The concert allows one to appreciate this fusion by presenting each madrigal alongside its poetic text, highlighting the stylistic evolution that led to an expressive magnificence in the music.
The protagonist of the event will be Fonte Armonica Ensemble, a vocal group specialising in Renaissance polyphony, whose experience in the musical sphere has been consolidated at festivals and exhibitions, also in the Modena area, such as Grandezze & Meraviglie, festivalfilosofia, Modena Organ Festival, ArmoniosaMente.
The ensemble, consisting of eight singers, offers a cappella performances that enhance the sacred and secular repertoire with an interpretative sensitivity that combines stylistic rigour and emotional involvement.
Grandezze & Meraviglie awaits you in the gardens of the State Archives in Modena to celebrate together an evening dedicated to music.
On the occasion of the concert, the State Archive of Modena will open its doors to the public with two exhibitions already active inside from 19 hours, both free entry:

The exhibition takes its cue from the recent anniversary of the 650th anniversary of the death of Francesco Petrarch, choosing to unite in a single, organic narrative itinerary materials conserved in the Biblioteca Estense Library, the Galleria Estense and Archivio di Stato, which chorally recount, in their own way, the varied fortune of the poet who knew how to look at the territories of the soul and the world, living the present and building the future with the memory of the past.
