Nelle sue Sonate, semplificando, si possono distinguere essenzialmente due elementi: l\u2019elemento ritmico marcato e serrato, e l\u2019elemento melodico con ampie libert\u00e0 espressive. Questo modello ebbe una forza tale da essere adottato dal coevo mondo musicale iberico che l\u2019adott\u00f2 unanimemente. L&#8217;anima scarlattiana dal carattere popolare \u00e8 segnata dall\u2019influenza del mondo gitano-andaluso che vivifica e caratterizza alcune delle sue composizioni.
