The concert aims to bring the encounter between the emotion of baroque music and the ability of modern dance to dialogue with it. The musical creativity of the Baroque period has as its main theme the Theory of Affections, that is the possibility of arise emotions according to a precise language of sound gestures. The utopia of a musical vocabulary of the motions of the soul, already imagined by ancient philosophy, finds decisive expression in the “basso continuo”, that is the ‘bass that contains’, the harmonic science at the base of modern music. Music by Marin Marais, Arcangelo Corelli and Philipp Heinrich Erlebach are well suited to this purpose.
