The lute is the main instrument of the Renaissance and authors from all over Europe dedicate to it numerous compositions. Its characteristics – an intimate, talking and deep sound – are exalted in the chamber music pages dedicated to it, of which the improvisational origin is emphasized – touched – or by the dance music – powerful, currents. During the Baroque, the instrument gradually makes way for strings and keyboards, but in the seventeenth century it still maintains a leading role in the production of major composers. In this concert, the listener is taken on a musical journey conducted on the strings of the archlute through large pages of the greatest composers of the time.
