Francesco II D’Este in Cd

During the Duchy of Francesco II d’Este (1674-1694), the court of Modena was a musical melting pot of extraordinary importance. Located at the center of a refined musical network, the city maintained relations with the main cultural centers of the peninsula and, through strong dynastic and diplomatic relations, ensured solid exchanges with the major European courts. In 2019 the ensemble of Grandezze & Meraviglie, “Modena Barocca”, launched a crowdfunding whose success has allowed, starting from a concert planned as part of the Festival, the realization of a Compact disc “Francesco II d’Este, The Prince of Music”, which starting from November 2020 will be circulating worldwide, with the record label Brilliant. The music, largely unpublished, represent a synthetic anthology of vocal and instrumental pages exemplary of the Baroque period. Giovanni Paganelli, director of the production and Federico Lanzellotti, in the dual role of musician and musicologist, present this first record adventure of Modena Barocca.
