Venice, a cosmopolitan city that welcomed Masters of Italian and European origin, is the protagonist of this concert. The program is organised with vocal and instrumental music, performed and published in Venice in the early seventeenth century: Heinrich Schütz, Biagio Marini, Claudio Monteverdi, Andrea Gabrieli, Adriano Banchieri. The instruments used are the most common ones between the ‘500’ and ‘600’ in Europe for the sacred and profane repertoire: the dulciana or bassoon-chorista, so called because of its affinity to the human voice, and the trombone. In this concert you can listen to the dulciana in the rare cut of the soprano, in dialogue with a vocal soprano, and the cut of the bass. The solo voice is an irreplaceable presence, here protagonist both in the concerted style.
